Ginna criteria:

3. PERFORM a TEDE ALARA Evaluation, Attachment 10, if:

a. The work is to be performed in a posted Airborne Radioactivity Area or there
is a
significant risk of an area becoming an Airborne Radioactivity Area anticipated
DAC
greater than 0.3 during the course of work, AND

b. One OR more of the following conditions is met:

1) It is planned to issue a respirator for work AND the prospective external
deep dose equivalent (DDE) exceeds 10 mrem DDE for the duration of the
task (per individual).

2) The prospective radioactive material intake for work planned to be performed
without respiratory protection exceeds 4 DAC-hours for the duration of the
task (per individual).

3) It is planned to issue a respirator for work that has a lower APF than the
anticipated peak airborne concentration in DACs.

4) Performing welding, burning, grinding or high energy machining on surface
areas with greater than 10,000 dpm/100 cm2 loose contamination PER RPJC-
JOBCOVERAGE.

Subject: Powernet: TEDE/ALARA Evaluation

Duke Energy would appreciate any information other utilities can provide on the
following:

Duke fleet procedure calls for TEDE/ALARA evaluation if weighted DAC-hours are
expected to result in ≥ 4 DAC-hours (10 mrem CEDE) per person.

Anyone using different criteria, methods, values?
