In addition to the "weighted DAC-hours are expected to result in ≥ 4 DAC-hours
(10 mrem CEDE) per person" criteria, Palo Verde also uses the following
conditions to perform a TEDE ALARA Evaluation / Review: work area conditions >
200,000 dpm/100cm2 beta / gamma, surface destroying activities when
contamination levels are > 50,000 dpm/100 cm2 beta / gamma, and EPRI Level III
Alpha Areas or Level II Alpha Areas with actual presence of alpha contamination
or any potential fixed or hidden (legacy) alpha contamination.

Subject: Powernet: TEDE/ALARA Evaluation

Duke Energy would appreciate any information other utilities can provide on the
following:

Duke fleet procedure calls for TEDE/ALARA evaluation if weighted DAC-hours are
expected to result in ≥ 4 DAC-hours (10 mrem CEDE) per person.

Anyone using different criteria, methods, values?
