Palo Verde provides the following response: Typically run 0.1 micron filters in our letdown system during normal operations. During transients / crud bursts we run either 2.0 or 6.0 micron filters. However, we have found that the 0.1 and 2.0 filters load up at the same rate. We just made a presentation to our ALARA Committee to reduce the filter size to 0.05 micron. If we have to bypass the filters the activity is simply loaded up on our letdown system ion exchangers.
