We don't have a weight restriction, but we do have the following cautions
regarding material thickness in our procedure:

Failure to follow these guides could result in the release of radioactive
material to the
General Public. The following limits for wall thickness are to be followed when
using
SAM for free release.

Plastic and Paper.............less than 3"
Aluminum.....................less than 1.5"
Iron............................less than ΒΌ"

Any items with thicknesses greater than previously mentioned limits must be
opened or
taken apart to reduce all areas to less than these limits. For example;
Notebooks, books,
procedures, SHALL be opened, valves may be dismantled, gauges may be taken apart
to reduce their total thickness. Any items with thicknesses greater than these
limits
CANNOT be released using this system as their wall thickness and material
composition
will attenuate gamma rays emitted from internal contamination.

Subject: Powernet: SAM-12 small article monitor question

The Vendor Manual states, "Articles of large weight...may require different
procedures requiring Health
Physics intervention."

The manual does not provide a value, except 60 Kg when using scale. Anybody
out there define/describe or have a weight limit?
