NOTE: Items not appropriate for monitoring include, but are not limited to: * articles containing liquid * articles with significant shielding * articles containing magnets * articles with known radioactive content Place article(s), appropriate for monitoring, into monitor as close as practical to the center of the chamber bottom. * Items equal to or greater than 40 pounds should not be monitored by a SAM-9/SAM-11. * Multiple items may be monitored simultaneously as long as items are spread out (not stacked) in the monitor. * Paper may be monitored in a stack up to approximately 1 inch in thickness.
