Bob,

EDF has several papers on the French NPP practice to perform nasal swabs as a
part of their internal dosimetry assessment.

These papers are on the ISOE Website at isoe-network.net under previous
symposium papers. One of the papers is from the Essen, Germany European ISOE
ALARA Symposium.

I will forward you some of the French papers, separately.

It should be noted that each French nuclear plant has a full time medical
doctor on site that is involved in this process and assessment.

Duke Energy would appreciate any response you can provide on the following
question. Thanks in advance.

In responding to a potential uptake of radioactive material, do site procedures
allow, or not allow, for collecting nasal swabs on affected personnel?
