Hi All,

Diablo Canyon maintains a specific, high level administrative procedure for
Planned Special Exposures and like others the only thing we have done with it
is update approval titles over the years. I don't anticipate ever using it,
but if we ever had to do one of these, I want an already defined process for
doing it.

Subject: Powernet: Planned Special Exposure Procedure

Duke Energy would like to know the following:

A Planned Special Exposure has never been used to any of our knowledge, nor is
it likely to ever be used. We'd like to know which sites and/or utilities
maintain a procedure that provides specific direction on how to use a Planned
Special Exposure. Duke Energy has had a procedure in place for years that had
never been touched.

1. Do you maintain a procedure for Planned Special Exposures?

2. If not, is it described in another procedure (high level) or are there
steps to ensure a Planned Special Exposure is never used?

Thanks!

Christopher Courtenay, P.E.
