Diablo Canyon's response:

1) All our professional staff are exempt employees. Are but one are required
to be members of the Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) Union.
2) We have a total of 7 folks in our technical staff.
3) Yes, the union has a progression path from entry level through Principal
Radiation Protection Engineer
4) Advancement past Senior RP Engineer has MS and CHP/PE as strongly desired.
We currently have two Principal RP Engineers. One is a CHP and one is a PE.

Thanks,

Linda

Subject: Powernet: RP Technical Group Question

CNS has a RP Technical Staff personnel question. CNS calls our technical
personnel staff health physicists. I know other plants have different titles,
but they perform similar functions. With that said we are doing a benchmark
and would like to know the following:

1. Are your Staff HPs hourly or exempt personnel?

2. How many do you have on staff?

3. Do you have more than one level? Ex) CNS has Staff Health Physicist
and Senior Staff Health Physicist.

4. If you do have more than one level, what requirements do you have to
progress to the next level? Ex.) CNS requires either a CHP or a Masters in
Health Physics to advance to Senior Staff Health Physicist.

Thanks<
