Our procedure is essentially the same as yours. Our divers are not lifted out but climb up a ladder to a platform
If you had a particle that would rinse off then how would it stay on as they moved through the water? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sacha, Claudia L Sent: Thursday, April 09, 2015 8:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Powernet: Diving Question from Perry NPP TVA External Message. Please use caution when opening. Perry NPP requests the answer to the following question: “How does your station handle the diver and surveys when exiting contaminated pools?” FENOC (Beaver Valley, Davis Besse and Perry) currently rinses the diver off as they are lifted from the water/pool. After rinsing the diver, an RP Tech performs a survey for particles and to assess conditions using an ion chamber with an open window. A concern was raised about the process if the diver was kneeling in ‘muck’ or a particle was on the diving suit undetected by telemetric dosimetry, it could be rinsed off and potential exposure to the diver would not be accounted for. Responses can be forwarded to [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.
