I believe that it would be at least nice to have as the main advantage of the
Sun compiler is error/warning handling.
Of course, it is forseeable that the GCC created code will be faster,
but optimizing the Sun compiler is something that could be done later.

I did not yet check the PPC CPU handbook, but it should not be that much
work to change the compiler to become big endian.
Also note that once you have the source for the compiler, you could create a
cross variant.
