This is most probably an outdated version, which has unfortunately
crept into the distribution of pdfslide years ago.
This should be fixed in the current online distribution of pdfslide,
but it may take some time until the old copy has vanished from all
distributions, CDs etc. in use.
Remove the copy from the pdfslide folder and things should work as
expected.

Thanxs, much better. But there still remains one error when I try to invoke \bgaddcenter . This seems to be an error similar to the first one. Is there perhaps another outdated stylefile, which could be responsible for this?
