This is the relevant piece: (/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.os/tex/latex/macros/contrib/supported/pdfslide/pause.sty) There is an older pause.sty in the texmf.os directory that is found before the current version. I've already mailed with Gerben about this, but either your installation is old, or Gerben hasn't come round to updating his distribution. Remove the file, rebuild the database and try again. Maarten Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.
