12 Mersenne Primes were discovered before electronic computers (5 starting with Euler).
12 more were discovered on early computers (Robinson through Tucker), 16 years. Then came the era of Seymour Cray and 10 more were found over the next 18 years. (The NEC was a vector processor) Then came GIMPS. 7 Mersenne Primes in about 8 years. Total 41 Mersenne Primes, 29 found over the last 42 years, 31 over the last 100 years. My question is, what will happen when Quantum Computing becomes reality? --Luke _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime
