What do you mean by "reality"? QC works now, providing you only want to find 
the factors of 2^4-1. It will probably be decades (at least) before QCs with 
tens of millions of qubits become available in significant quantity - note 
that "conventional" applications of QC like breaking public key cryptography 
require only a few hundreds or thousands of qubits. We should be able to find 
a few more Mersenne primes before QC becomes much help.
