OK, I've just now changed to board #2, but kept the memory. So, new CPU+board.  
Same problem -
still hardware errors reported by stress test.  I'm now running a memory-check 
which should be
really interesting.  The memory is also new, but of 2 sticks bought, only one 
actually worked -
the other is being RMAed.
