Having perused the primenet stats page regularly, I have noticed that factoring assignments which fail to find a factor seem to revert to "available. I guessed this was because p-1 factoring (memory permitting) was still profitable. OTOH "slow" computers presumably have limited memory. Another feature I have noticed is that the allocation rate exceeds the completion rate by a factor of 3. Is this rate of "attrition" inevitable? _________________________________________________________________ Be one of the first to try Windows Live Mail. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-4911fb2b2e6d _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [email protected] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime
