To put it  briefly boinc allows a user to sort of rotate through a
number of different distributed computing projects.  You assign a
percentage of your computing time to each project you are interested in.
There is a number of different distributed computing projects available.
This might be more efficient than running a number of different
pieces of distributed computing software on the same machine if you want
to support several projects.  Boinc became popular as it is what
[EMAIL PROTECTED] supports.
