AMERICA'S NEWSCHANNEL MSNBC
Friday JUNE 7-Sunday JUNE 9, 2002
***HIGHLIGHTS***
We are really thrilled about the lineup of documentaries we have this weekend. We
hope you'll be able to join us especially on Sunday night when we premiere three
programs we've been working on for more than a year. They deal with teens and the
world they live in today.
At 8pm, we begin with "13" a program told by four thirteen year old girls whose
parents gave us permission to give their daughters cameras for a few months so they
could record their version of reality. If you have a teenaged girl (or have one who
will be someday) this program will be eye-opening.
Then at 9pm, we tackle the issues of boys with the help of a leading researcher who
helps walk us through everything from how to send your son to kindergarten without
traumatizing him (if you've done it, you know the heaving sobs we're talking about) to
talking about sex and drugs and everything else that most parents would rather not
have to talk about.
And at 10pm, we show you what happens to the kids who slip through the cracks as we
follow several teens who are living on the streets of Hollywood, including one who is
trying to care for a newborn!

Instead they're looking at a minimum of 80 years combined for luring a 16 year old
romantic rival to her death. Diane Zamora and David Graham-- they each took the blame
for the crime and then turned on each other. You'll hear both their confessions in
this one-hour documentary.

hundreds of miles across a sun-scorched desert, red plateaus, and rugged mountains in
a race to cross the outback. Not only will the race be a physical ordeal, it will
prove to be a mental and spiritual odyssey. A lifetime's knowledge of the
country...toughness and experience...youth and fitness. Who will win? In the end,
it's not so much a race as a trial of the human spirit.
