I believe that I have figured out the error claiming that the permissions were incorrect. I have restarted cups services now and appear to have a clean log file. However, when I try to send a test page print or send a normal print (as a user added to the sys group because of permission problems with cups in snv_99) the printers go 'offline' without a complaint in the log file.
