sorry for the late reply.

I did get the automatic queue configuration dialog when I attached my printer, 
but I thought that to use it as a network printer that I would need to use "Add 
Network Printer" on the server computer, and then add access to the network 
printer on the client. Sounds like I was wrong.

I'm in my exam period at the moment, so I haven't been able to play around with 
it much. So by the sounds of it I want to:
    -add the printer as an attached printer on the server.. just using the 
automatic queue configuration
    -then "add access to printer" on the client using the print manager
?

The last thing I'm stuck with is the IP address of the printer... is that just 
the IP of the server computer on the LAN? If not, how can I find it? You know.. 
I'm studying electrical engineering, specialising in computer systems, but I'm 
so horrible with networking! I need to do something about that.
