We have a couple of printers attached to the wife's computer (a Brother
MFC-3820CN over USB and a HP 1220C). I use printer manager to create an entry
per the faq. Initially I got nothing. But then after deleting the printer,
messing around a bit, recreating the queue, I had lp fail on me and lpstat tell
me:
$ lpstat -a
brother not accepting requests since Wed Oct 19 17:02:17 2005 -
new destination
_default not accepting requests since Wed Oct 19 17:02:17 2005 -
new destination
$
The file shares on my wife's machine seem to need a username/password. Is that
an issue for the printer shares? If so what magic do I wave at the windows
machine to get it to do the right thing?
