Further, there is a seemingly endless parade of 'photographers' who
believe that a couple of quick Photoshop manouvers derived from an online
'tips' forum makes them an 'artist'.

Very few people can hit the ground running and produce truly creative or,
at least, memorable imagery using new technologies without first having a solid
base in the photographic fundamentals that preceeded 'digital'.

Photoshop may give you more choices, conveniently, but it won't make anyone
a better photographer.
