I have to recreate the catalog and I am attempting to do that with an older version of Retrospect on a different operating system. I tried and I failed. Also, I have never managed to get Ecrix to work as it should with my 9600 via this Firecard card. Tapes used in previous failed attempts with my 9600, have always worked fine on my G4. Fingers crossed that the tape is fine, but I swap my tapes on a daily basis, so I have another back up set too.
