VueScan is excellent for handling Kodachrome which has unique properties
making it very difficult to scan. Its emulsion technology is very different
to E6.

Kodachrome's colour gradually cross curves with age, and with less loss of
highlight detail than most other tranny emulsions. Depending on the
processing, it can have a colour fidelity anywhere between quite appalling
and quite incredible. Best to scan in 48bit then colour correct in PS
Curves.

Tends to cause pixel-blooming on CCD scanners, which can be overcome using
an additional long pass exposure.

It will scrub up well with IR cleaning, and be prepared to skip and jump
around all over the colour pallette + setting of savvy B/W points.

No two Kodachromes ever scan the same. <G>
