I have just tried doing some prints in OS X 10.2.4 with my 2100 and it was much slower than in OS 9.
Printing an A4 sheet with a flattened 15MB file including 4 small images, but mainly white space at 1440dpi, the times were as follows: G4 OS X Firewire = 20 minutes 58 seconds G4 OS X USB2 = 10 minutes 27 seconds G4 OS 9 Firewire = 3 minutes 21 seconds G4 OS 9 USB2 = 3 minutes 20 seconds Imac G3 in OS X USB2 = 15 minutes 7 seconds Imac G3 in OS 9 USB2 = 4 minutes 53 seconds I contacted Epson, who ran tests on the same file and came up with similar times. Is anybody else seeing these major differences in speed? Epson emailed me yesterday and said they had no solution in sight and no suggestions to make, but said they would get back to me when they knew something. Why do I suspect that this won't be within the next week? I'd like to get a new dual G4, but some of these problems in OS X have really exhausted my patience. My 1290 prints with much the same sort of speed in OS X as in OS 9.
