I ran some tests this afternoon and discovered that if I link the printing to colour sync as I do normally, then it takes forever, but if I use the photo realistic setting, then it comes down to around 5 minutes 30 seconds for an A4.
Following this discovery, I called Epson, who didn't even sound interested but did say it had been elevated to a level 2 problem!! I wonder how many levels there actually are before they investigate... At the end of the conversation, the tech support guy said that new drivers would be 3 - 6 months away and of course put all the blame on Apple, although he couldn't explain why this didn't effect Canon printers.
