I have done this very successfully. I use Dave, software, by Thursby. You can download a trial of this, which is what I did before buying. I found (working with OS 9)that it was too slow to pull files from the PC (I was working with very big files, but it was ridiculous). Someone suggested pushing from the Mac, and that was quick and efficient. I can see all the folders that are shared on the PCs and vice versa.
