Hi

I don't know if this will help but...

If you are using 10.2.x you may wish to look at the free gimp-print and
HPIJS drivers. They make use of the CUPS print system and work very well.
I'm using HPIJS to use a PC only HP K80 from both OS 9 and X machines.
Quality is excellent and from the OS 9 system it appears as a colour
postscript printer! It needed a network box, since the USB is not very good
on that model (15 quid for an Intel NetportExpress from a computer fair).

There are a few minor tweaks needed to some OSX files but it has enabled me
to use the HP as a general purpose printer. I've collected all the various
info in the maclinks page on the site below. If anyone wants to know any
more detail, please feel free to contact me off list.

This also had the unforeseen* benefit that when a client was round with his
XP laptop, the printer could be used via our wireless network as a normal
networked PC printer (I had the PC driver disk to hand :-))

bye for now
