Aloha,

A friend called me from CompUSA about getting a 2.1 MB digital camera on
sale there. (Tonight is her son's prom, so this is a rush purchase.)

She has a G3 300 Tower with a USB card installed, and has Photoshop 5.0
on the Mac. The camera said "USB" so I told her it would fit. Once I got
home, I pulled up the specs on the camera--a Sipix SC 2300--and under
Requirements it says:
Pentium PC Microsoft Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP, 32 MB RAM,
90 MB available hard drive space, USB port, CD-ROM drive
        (for software installation), VGA monitor

It seems to me that the included software is Windows only, BUT is it
possible to not use that and instead install Camedia (which I got with
an old digital Olympus) or just download the images using Photoshop?

I realize this is far beneath the level of expertise on this List, but I
need to tell her whether or not to open the box.

Thanks,

Mac Simpson
