Hi

The only direct use for Lab I've had has been as a mechanism for getting
black and white images from colour. There are a whole load of different ways
of making the transformation and I've found the Lab method often gives good
looking results. (convert to Lab and delete the 'a' and 'b' channels)

If anyone is interested in this, I recently put up a page on the site below
comparing examples from many different techniques:
<http://northlight-images.co.uk/bwfromcol.html> If anyone has any other
conversion techniques they'd care to share, please let me know.

bye for now
