With help from James Chastney, I've ordered a 40GB 5400 drive to replace the 10GB 4200 one in my iBook.
Does anyone know whether it is possible, having backed up the previous system with its settings and programs, to copy this back onto the iBook's new HD? If not it will be a long process reinstalling all the software and settings. If this is NOT possible, is it possible to copy system settings (such us Network and Internet prefs, etc.). I.e. Is there a mystery file somewhere in the System folder than I can copy across and will make my life easier! Thanks again for your advice.
