Many thanks. I'm using OSX. Once I turn on the iBook with nothing on it at all, which it register as an external HD if I plug it into my desktop G4 via firewire, so that I can copy the system (using Carbon Copy Cloner), restart the iBook and miraculously find everything working perfectly?
