Yep same here Mike under 10.2.6 often a click in the window will make it update...It's a pain
Also if I am selecting alternate files from a folder in OS9 I could simply
Shift + Click and select whichever files I wanted leaving out files in
between.
I'm not sure if this behaviour is new but what you want is Cmnd/click. I believe it's called a discontigous selection...
