Hi All,

I'm trying to cut down on the time that i spend sorting through NEFs prior
to their processing, ie their selection.

Currently I use iView media pro (on a DP 1Ghz G4) but i find it just too
slow. There is a lag time of around 10 seconds to see a NEF larger than
thumbnail, and it's this that i want to sort out ... does anyone have any
suggestions of an application that would enable me to see the NEFs in quick
succession, plus the ability to sort them?
Hi Slater. I use Nikon View 6 that you should have. It'll show you all the thumbnails a la PS browser. Double click one and you get that image enlarged in the Nikon Viewer. You can delete with a shortcut and you can flag them to select them. Go back to the thumbnail view which is still open underneath and select all the flagged files and move them to a folder that you can see in the folder tree view to the left-if you have it showing. The viewr gives an image quickly and then proceeds to render it to higher quality. You don't have to waith though, you can move to the next file with one keyboard stroke or go backwards. I use it on a 12" powerbook on location and on my desktop G4. There is an option to make it go full screen but you can't select without coming out of that mode...but you can delete.
