My monitor is a Mitsubishi 93SB which uses the same tube a the more expensive Lacie 4's, this cost me �210.
Are there any good LCD monitors around the same price, as my friend is an assistant photographer, price is a huge issue!

My thoughts are based on the presumption that your friend is after excellent colour. Unless he can afford the best of the LCD's which from what you say he obviously cannot, I would advise him to get as good a CRT as possible and calibrate it.
I have to say that despite all the assurances that LCD's are as good or even better I am still sceptical. However I am very happy using a 19" LCD on the office Internet computer, but the experience has not tempted me to change our CRT's for LCD's for colour critical work however 'sexy' they might look.
