It was the Canon D 60 not the new D10 (and even so they were not THAT soft)

Judging TRUE sharpness on the magnified image on the back of a Canon D 10 is not easy

I look at the image on a laptop or proper screen if in doubt.

Rod does not say what kind of cards (Lexar SanDisk??) he is using and I feel this may well have a bearing on the issue.

Rob Galbraith has published a veritable bible about Cards and card performance on his website (qv)

Hi Rod,

I've just bought one too, and although I don't have this problem with
the cards (it seems quite happy with anything I put in it, including
a small one from my wife's Ixus, and those from my Coolpix 990 and
D1), I'm not sure about the auto focus. When I select full
magnification with the top right button on the rear, the image looks
very soft.

I believe someone had a similar focus problem with a number of bodies
a few months back, but I can't find the postings: was it one of the
Simons on the list?
