As I have seen a few posts from others with this printer has anyone actually tried this? If so I presume that the carts just stick out the machine a lot further? And that everything was OK
They fit the same way on a 9600 as well. The carts are twice as long as the smaller versions. When mounted they stick out of the compartment about five inches or so. The cover won't close. I never understood why the larger ones are specified for the 9600. Both printers come stock with the 110ml carts. The 220ml carts work fine in either printer they just look a bit odd and you can't close the cover on the ink compartment. The only caveat about using the carts is that you shouldn't use larger carts for inks where you won't consume a full cart in maybe six months or so. The three light colors are consumed much faster than the others... especially light magenta. Standard or dark magenta is the ink that I consume the slowest. If you're not doing just piles of printing you might be better off sticking to 110ml carts for the slower moving inks. Its not a huge cost savings to get the larger carts. If one sits in the printer too long and causes clogs that are time/ink consuming to clear then you've pretty much shot the savings.
