developing the artwork easier.
Hi Gordon,
Sorry if I have confused you even more, only after reading your reply with mine attached I've realized I wasn't too clear, sorry!
Adobe CS (Creative Suite) software is now available as a very, very affordable and tempting package (5 apps) for PC/Mac. Regarding you already have any version of Photoshop, you can upgrade as a bundle of: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive and Acrobat pro (with layers) for around 500, it may sound a lot, but regarding QuarkXpress is over 1200 and doesn't do much as design is concern not to mention web stuff, then I have to admit that 500 for 5 new and full pro apps is a pretty good deal.
No, you may not need Illustrator or InDesign, but it may help you with graphics, if are more into design graphics etc. ...
I also meant, you can start an artwotk in Photoshop, then bringing it into Illustrator or InDesign and continuing your artwork there, if you wish, without the need to go back to Photoshop to apply a shadow or going back to Illustrator to edit vector logo etc. Or the other way around! So, briefly you don't need to be jumping back and forward between apps all the time!
In your case you may only need to get GoLive, am I right?
And I also meant GoLive should be pretty easy to master in a couple of days, as it follows the same native shortcuts/tools and style as your friend Photoshop.
I really like the new Acrobat with layers. So you can export a layered file to PDF from (e.g. InDesign) your portfolio with optional pages or shots for client approval and the client 'switches ON and OFF' the layers to sign off as if it was a photoshop layered file, pretty clever hey?!
Hope it helps.
