I installed a Firewire in my PC ,normally used with a scan back via a scusi cable,so I could try out a PhaseOne H20 back. Win 2k simply found the firewire card installed without fuss and off to work we went. Suggest you had an incompatible card or old O/S.
I presume laptop screens can be calibrated ! It would save me trailing a PC and Monitor around the studio on the umbilical like scusi cable if I could just Velcro the laptop to the camera stand as I tripped over the cable earlier this year ,yanking the scan back of and putting it out of commission,thank goodness for insurance.
