I heartily agree with Simon, especially when there have been recent 
issues as serious as Panther knocking out LaCie hard drives. If I 
hadn't picked up on that thread I can guarantee that I would have lost 
something that had slipped the net between backups and archives!

I do have one question regarding Simons post - what other OS? You mean 
that someone else makes an operating system other than Apple? I can't 
imagine its very good or I'm sure I'd have heard of it :-)
