Whilst we use Niikons (D1X), this might help since our solution is not dependant on the camera type:
to fire the studio flash, we use a Quantum 4i radio slave with the sender plugged into the camera's hot shoe; to fire the camera, we have a Pocket Wizard (also radio) connected to the camera's mini-din plug. This combination works a treat with no clash of frequencies and the batteries last for a long time. The kit will cost around �600 but it only has to be bought once. Hope this helps.
