I have a Nikon Coolscan IV and very pleased. There is now a 'V' which has higher resolution and is cheaper (about �400 plus vat), I have heard good things about the 'V'. It's USB2 too. Others on the list I know have the Minolta 5400 which they will tell you about. My only gripe about the IV is the speed (or lack of it). Others will want to know if you are PC or Mac (the software behaves differently between the platforms).
