There is a new 'top line' canon compact. Its 8 mega pixels, has a cf lens and is a nice bit of kit....apart from the price...�1000!!

I�ve heard (read) that it�s as noisy as the Sony 828, which is pretty bad in this matter. Besides, it does not have Bulb, the longest exposure is 30 seconds. And I�m not sure if it has a PC contact. For this money I�d buy a 300D+18~55mm lens combo.
