Could you let us know some of the details? colour space of the supplied files, destination cmyk properties (do they have a press profile or are they making a generic conversion etc).
My guess is that you have supplied Adobe 1998 colourspace files and they have converted without colour management, either by turning it off or using a version of photoshop without colour management.
