Hi John, I had a similar problem when I installed a CIS system on an 1160, only mine was the yellow ink channel. I rang John Read at Marrutt and he suggested carefully removing the ink cart and taking a cotton bud, soaked in hot water, washing the black plastic nipples (the ones that pierce the foil seals on the carts). Then do 3 cleaning cycles, followed by purge print, after purge print until the problem is solved. It worked for me. If you email me off list I'll send you the purge print file.
