Did it not? the question hasn't gone away yet. You tried to kill it very un-timely, for the simple reason that it posed a threat to your trade.

The above is an unforgivable accusation to make. If you are seriously suggesting that I used my position as duty list mum to kill a thread to further my business interests, you should either provide evidence of exactly how the continuation of the thread was harming me, or do the honourable thing and withdraw the accusation immediately.
The reality was the thread was ended because it had gone full circle..... perhaps several times and had taken over the list for many days. You were not prepared to accept what many knowledgeable people were saying to you, and to be frank many had off list expressed a wish to see it ended for this reason. Indeed many also felt it should have been ended far earlier, however I believed that some interesting stuff might come from it's continuance. In the event the list benefited from some excellent postings from Steve Upton of Chromix.
