Tariq Just a reminder that a 50mb file in 8 bit still leaves you short of 96mb worth of information when outputting a 5x4 tranny or neg as the optimum file size for a 5x4 at 8000 lines resolution is 144mb. When scanned, although the tranny will yield a higher resolution than the input file there will be no more micro detail, indeed the tranny will look soft to the trained eye but of course with post scan USM applied the resulting scan could look pretty good.
Customer wants to spend money let them do so although George Brooks idea of selecting a small area and printing a large sample from it carries a lot of sensible weight and would,I'm sure, help to show your technical expertise in this particular matter Regards Michael Wilkinson. 106 Holyhead Rd, Ketley, Telford, Shropshire.
