Mike,

How's the autofocus using the centre point on an object about 3 - 4 feet away, say on a pack shot?

Hi - thanks for reminding me to do a focus check (I've been shooting general outdoors images & it all seemed fine), so I just set up a few small objects at different distances in the studio. Shooting with modelling lights only, 85mm f1.8 lens @ f2.8 the camera snapped into focus quickly & accurately - checked them in PS @ 100%. I use the * button under my right thumb to activate focus before shooting (semi-auto focus) & find it to be very good. I haven't had any serious problems with the earlier D60, but the new camera is definitely faster & able to lock on in very low light levels.
