I have been following the sale of over a dozen other Imacon items on ebay
over last few weeks and have found another probable scam and loophole in
Ebay's security setup.
*Seller from Andorra
* no previous history
* private auction ie no id, hides behind a username eg uisaj723
*payment wanted upfront in dollars,
*replies from three different company names and three different email
addresses (but all from same London address).
*In each case the seller wants buyers to contact them first - and sends an
identically worded reply
* then the item is withdrawn from Ebay sale.

Clever trick! This means no downstream sale can be attributable to Ebay
jurisdiction because the item number is invalid but the seller has used Ebay
to garner potential buyers.
Also because the item number is invalid it is **impossible** to complain or
report this to Ebay using their automated 'Contact Us' service which only
works if a valid Item Number is quoted (I have tried, and tried.... and
tried....)

The Police Fraud Squad are not interested - no crime committed, similarly
Trading Standards will do nothing. Ebay won't listen or get a human to read
any correspondance.

Result,
I wouldn't even buy a legit Imacon item from Ebay - no matter how tempting
it sounds.
I am frustrated with Ebay - if any of you have an Ebay email address that
reaches a human then please let me know
I am warning all of you but someone somewhere is paying over large sums of
dollars to these crooks even now.
