This question had been replied, as far as I remember by Don Lashier himself on workflow.com, he told that ACR didn't improve his algorithms, his comparison is still valid and didn't require any update.
Of course the featured removal of vignetting and lens colour fringing are a great improvements but I favour the best colours and noiseless results.
That said I heard great thinks by their technical team from DxO raw converter and I am in great expectations to test it:
